PjBL Activities for LKPU Courses with BI and OJK
The Financial Institutions and Money Market (LKPU) Course Class, Opening Management Department of Financial Management, FEB UPR, carried out Project Based Learning (PjBL) activities at the Integrated Red and White Building A on Monday 08 May 2023.
Mr. Sanjayanto Nugroho, S.A., M.M., and Mrs. Ani Mahrita, S.E., M.Sc as LKPU course lecturers assigned students in groups to provide socialization about LKPU to other students outside the management department. Each group is given the freedom to invite resource persons. The first group consisting of Ainun, Eva Septia Anggraini Putri, Riska Dwi Prawesti, Syahidah Zariyah, Wida Yulianti, and Chandra Fadillah invited a resource person from Bank Indonesia (BI), namely Mr. Suwarha Warno Wirapermana as BI Economist for Central Kalimantan Province. This socialization by group 1 (one) lasted for 90 minutes, from 07.00 WIB to 08.30 WIB.
On this occasion Mr. Suwarha provided socialization regarding financial literacy and the role of BI in Indonesian finance. Based on the results of the 2022 OJK Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion Survey (SNLIK), that financial inclusion in Indonesia from 2019 to 2022 has increased from 76.19% to 85.10%. Meanwhile, financial literacy is only 49.68% in 2022. In order to reduce the proportion of the gap between financial inclusion and financial literacy, BI is currently trying to provide financial outreach to students, especially UPR students.
Furthermore, the second session started from 09.00 WIB to 10.30 WIB which was continued by group 2 (two) consisting of Nugrahta Kristianta Purba, Angga Erwanto, Julkarnain, Sigit Prasetyo, Natanael Siagian, and Haris Padilah by inviting speakers from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) ) ) namely Mr. Hilman Suryadi as Junior Analyst of OJK Prov. Central Kalimantan. In this second session, Mr. Otto Fitrianady as Head of OJK Prov. Central Kalimantan was also present to give remarks to fellow students who were present at the activity. He said that students must be wise in making financial decisions, not to be fooled by illegal online loans.
After Mr. Otto's remarks, the socialization activity was continued by Mr. Hilman as the main speaker who conveyed the rules of the OJK and the role of the OJK in finance, namely to regulate, supervise and protect the financial activities of an institution or organization. On this occasion Mr. Hilman also provided socialization regarding the rise of fraud in the digital era, especially illegal online loans and provided information on how the fraudsters' modes of action could be avoided by fellow students and the entire audience present at the activity.
